Country music artist Charlie Daniels defended President Trump and slammed political correctness in an interview Wednesday on Newsmax TV.
Daniels said Trump was right to condemn both sides in the violent clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday between white supremacists and leftist radicals.
“There’s no doubt about it. I mean there’s animosity on both sides, from what I saw on TV. I saw two sides fighting each other,” Daniels told host Rita Cosby. “I condemn both sides.”
Daniels was also critical of the push to take down statues of historical figures.
“That’s what ISIS is doing,” Daniels said. “There were pieces of history over there they didn’t like, they’re taking them down…Where does it stop?”
Daniels called Confederate Army General Robert E. Lee “one of the most honorable people in our history.”
If people don’t like the statutes, they just shouldn’t look at them, he said, drawing an analogy by saying he walks by movie posters he doesn’t like.
“These statues are not preaching,” Daniels said. “They’re not shouting out some kind of crazy epitaphs or something. They’re just sitting there. So just turn around and don’t look at them.”
Daniels said the media is “very, very prejudiced against the president,” but that people should give Trump a chance because “if he fails, the country fails.” However, Daniels said Trump brings some of his troubles on himself with his “pretty acid” tweets.

I like CDB and his conservative views. But I don’t really support entertainers being political, because if they weren’t famous, no one would care (know) what they said or think.. Just as I don’t like it when the Liberal Entertainers (Ashley Judd?) tell us their opinion.
Elvis said, when ask about some political situation, “Ma’am I am an entertainer, why would anyone care what I think about that?”
I sent this email to White House., (recommend others do the same)
Mr Trump:
The news media is inciting people to riot by false claims, stories and fake news.
The “Broadcast media” is operating on frequencies owned by the “Public”, and require a “license” to Broadcast.
The Radio Act of 1927 established the regulatory premise that the spectrum belongs to the public, and licensees have no property rights to use it.
Although the spectrum is licensed to bidders, its purchase does not entail ownership or rights but the privilege of using that portion of the spectrum.
These license were granted under the conditions that they would keep the American people informed, and informed with the “Truth”.
Any license granted can be revoked if the media fails in their obligation to fulfill the agreement that permits them to use these public frequencies.
The following was copied from the site listed below.
https://www.fcc.gov/media/radio/public-and-broadcasting…
” there are two issues related to broadcast journalism that are subject to Commission regulation: hoaxes and news distortion.
Hoaxes. The broadcast by a station of false information concerning a crime or catastrophe violates the FCC’s rules if:
the station licensee knew that the information was false,
broadcasting the false information directly causes substantial public harm, and
it was foreseeable that broadcasting the false information would cause such harm.
News Distortion.
as public trustees, broadcast licensees may not intentionally distort the news: the FCC has stated that “rigging or slanting the news is a most heinous act against the public interest.”
Programming Inciting “Imminent Lawless Action.” The Supreme Court has held that the government may curtail speech if it is both: (1) intended to incite or produce “imminent lawless action;” and (2) likely to “incite or produce such action.” Even when this legal test is met, any review that might lead to a curtailment of speech is generally performed by the appropriate criminal law enforcement authorities, not by the FCC.
I don’t think I need to say what action you, and AG Session should take, you have the law and an “Obligation” to make sure the American people hear only the “Truth”.
FCC Chairman has proved to be a supporter of Democrats and Obama, getting him to assist in revoking any license might be a problem.
Thank you, Mr. Daniels for your common sense. If a statue can oppress you, then, you have greater issues. I did not approve of Obama taking a photo op in Cuba before the image of Che Guevara nor do I enjoy seeing anyone wear Che’s image on a t-shirt here in the U.S., but it is their first amendment right to do so. History is there to learn from and the reason you should study it is to seek not to repeat its mistakes. Therein, lies the problem. They don’t know history.
Jesu’s Malverde the 3rd has become the Saint of drug cartels, bandits, and outlaws. Criminals pray to statues of the Saint. I’m hoping that our leaders denounce this practice. Drug cartels have killed thousands!
